This is my third baby, a 1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. It features a 455cu V8
Pontiac, Borg Warner T10 4 speed transmission, Hurst Competition Plus shifter
and more. The heads are 7K3 heads from a 1972 400 motor. They have larger
exhaust ports (1.77" versus 1.66") and boosts compression to about
9.5:1 from 7.6:1. There is also an Edelbrock intake manifold, Hedman headers,
Thrush dual mufflers and a Hayes clutch. The carb is a stock "Heinz 57"
750 Quadrajet. The carpeting and rubber moulding is new everywhere and the body
is rust free following major body work!
I haven't done any mods to it for several years now and only drive it on nice
days. It's not the fastest car on the road but is fun to drive and looks pretty
good (IMHO). Still needs to have the wheels sand blasted and the interior
headliner fixed up, but otherwise looks and runs good.
